BackyardVBS

If you have received a BACKYARD VBS invitation from a Host and have a yard number from them, register your child(ren) here!

Vacation Bible School is ON, just in a new way!

BACKYARD VBS’s will be held in neighborhoods all over West Michigan! BACKYARD VBS is designed for kids ages 5-11. Kids ages 3 & 4 are welcome with a parent present. Screened volunteers who will be BACKYARD VBS Host’s, will begin inviting children in their neighborhoods June 22! For kids who don’t have a BACKYARD VBS in their neighborhoods, we have a couple of options to consider below.

BE A BACKYARD VBS HOST

Host a BACKYARD VBS at your house! Click here to learn more about being a BACKYARD VBS Host. Click here to say “YES, I’ll be a BACKYARD VBS Host!”

OR

VIRTUAL VBS

Sign up to attend VBS virtually with your family! We understand you may not be able to attend a BACKYARD VBS if someone in your family is high risk or if there isn’t a BACKYARD VBS near you and you’re uncomfortable to host… that’s why we’re providing a virtual VBS experience for your family! This parent-led experience is shaped to be easy for a mom, dad, grandparent, etc. to be the hero and make a great VBS experience right in your own homes. If you’ll be attending virtually, click here to RSVP and receive the link!

We can’t wait to throw on our hard hats and pack our tool belts as we build a strong foundation on Jesus through games, activities, Bible stories, and more at Concrete & Cranes VBS!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • +What is the purpose of Backyard VBS?

We want to help create communities of belonging where kids can make new friends and learn about the love of Jesus while having a ton of summer fun!

  • +Can my child invite/bring a friend?

Please check with your Backyard VBS Host first to make sure they have room in their group before you invite friends (there are adult to child ratios we must follow).

If there’s room for an extra friend, they must also fill out a registration form (preferably online).

  • +What if my child needs to use the restroom?

Bathrooms at the Host home will not be available. Please have your child use the restroom right before they go to BACKYARD VBS. (The Host will call a parent if a child needs to use the bathroom while attending).

  • +Could I stay with my child during Backyard VBS?

Yes, you are welcome to stay!

  • +What is your policy for screening a VBS host?

We care about the safety of your children. All of our VBS Hosts and Co-hosts have been through a screening process, including a criminal background check on all volunteers age 18 or older.

  • +What if my child has special needs?

We’d be more than happy to arrange a buddy for your child so they have the best experience possible! We have several special needs “buddies” at our church. These volunteers are screened, trained, and have a passion for kids with special needs. Please note this on your registration form and a staff member will contact you prior to the event to learn more about your child and their needs. OR, you are more than welcome to be present during VBS to assist your child if you’re more comfortable with that!

  • +What if it rains?

The host home will be making the decision as to if they will hold the event in their garage with the door open or cancel for that day. The Host will contact you if Backyard VBS is canceled for the day at least 30 minutes prior to the event.

  • +Do I need to RSVP?

Yes, you will need to fill out an online registration form ahead of time.

  • +What if there is no Backyard VBS happening in my neighborhood?
