Being a parent is one of the most important jobs you can have, and raising kids is arguably more difficult than ever.
Despite the many outside influences in today’s world, you, as a parent, still have the biggest impact on your children’s lives.
The Parenting Conference will be hosted at Fair Haven Church on Saturday, January 27, 2024. This fun and dynamic conference is designed to be a huge encouragement to parents and other caregivers of children birth-18 and will also leave you equipped with new tools in your “parenting toolbox” as you care for the most important relationships in your life.
This conference is for any person who holds a parenting position and is hoping to invest well, lead by example and celebrate their kids at every turn. This is for someone who wants to capitalize on every moment and make intentional decisions to set their kids up the best they can for a life filled with joy, fun, and success.

The registration price includes conference entry, excellent teaching from passionate and energetic speakers and special guests, a few surprises, and some truly fantastic snacks (trust us about the snacks... we're very serious about snacks here at Fair Haven).
Our facilities are not capable of hosting children for the length of time needed for the conference and our desire is that parents would be able to attend the conference distraction-free. We are asking that no children above the age of 6 months attend the conference – including sessions in the Auditorium or breakout rooms. There will be pumping rooms available for nursing mothers.
If you are looking for childcare, we would recommend you start with family or ask your community for trusted names.
We’re lining up fantastic speakers for you. The Parenting Conference will feature familiar Fair Haven faces and several special guests who are experts in their respective fields.

Greg VanderMeer, Fair Haven Church
Greg has almost four decades of experience in leading organizations and public speaking. He is a certified executive coach, leadership trainer, pastor, and parent. When asked what qualifies him to speak on parenting, he replied, “I suppose nothing in particular and 30-plus years of learning in general. Kathy and I did a lot of things right and plenty of things we would do differently. I have learned that parenting isn’t for cowards!”
Investing in children, students, parents, and families has always been central to Greg’s career. His belief in the younger generation is linked to the ministry of Jesus. Jesus chose to invest in young people knowing they were just the right people at the right age to be used by God to change the world. Greg believes the same and doesn’t believe God has changed his mind about young people!
Greg is a graduate of Jenison, a resident of Hudsonville, a father of two children, and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and traveling with family and friends.
