Thank You Fair Haven
August 15, 2018
Dear Fair Haven,
Greetings in the Mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I bring you greetings from your brothers and sisters from Uganda. I am Isaac Lubega; married to Alice and we have three children; Paul 5, Grace 3 and Pearl 7 months old. I minister with Bishop Stephen Kaziimba who has visited Fair Haven on several occasions. It was and is God’s accomplishment that I am here at Fair Haven which has become another home away from home. I came here as an intern for a period of 1 month and ten days (July 12th – August 22nd). My time here is coming to an end and soon I will be back in Uganda.
I have been hosted by Pastor Greg and KathyVanderMeer. They have been good hosts to me, and their children David and Kylee have blessed me. It has indeed been another home to me and I will definitely miss our time together.
I very much enjoyed worshiping at Fair Haven and Walker Harbor Church. I have experienced many things for the first time in my life including but not limited to; going to a movie theatre, driving a boat, fishing and catching fish, being a small group leader for VBS, attending a big baptism service on Lake Michigan, and eating a pig in a blanket. I have been able to meet many new people and have gained many new friends. I have learned much and my life and ministry have been enriched. My ministry will be impacted by my time here!
I take this rare opportunity to thank you for the love you have for Uganda and especially the support you give to over 100 needy children through Compassion International. The Compassion Center is next to my residence and I have on many occasions been involved in visiting these children with Bishop Stephen. They are always thankful for the big hearts you have towards them. Because of your sponsorship, they are now being educated; their standard of living has dramatically improved, they are able to get shoes, school uniforms, and books. Whenever I think of your generosity, I am reminded of Matthew 25:31-46, but most especially verse 39-40:
“39 When did we see you sick. . .and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
May God’s blessings always be with you and all your endeavors,
Pastor Isaac Lubega, Uganda
